UPDATE: SpaceX is standing down from the Tuesday morning launch attempt due to a helium leak on the ground side umbilical disconnect. Next launch attempt is no earlier than Wednesday August 28th 2024 but stay tuned.
Are you ready for a new Dawn?? Polaris Dawn with Jared Isaacman, Scott Poteet, Anna Menon and Sarah Gillis are ready to ride this dragon crew capsule to the highest record breaking orbit around Earth at apogee and the first ever commercial EVA outside a depressurized Dragon capsule with new suits for all four of the crew while the Eva is taking place. Two astronauts will go outside the Dragon capsule Commander Jared Isaacman and SpaceX employee Sarah Gillis.
The Falcon 9 first stage booster will be B-1083-4 with its fourth flight to space and will re-land on drone ship ASOG (A Shortfall of Gravitas). Launch attempt is currently at 3:38 AM EDT Tuesday August 27th 2024. There are two other time slots 5:23 AM and 7:09 AM that could also come into play for liftoff times down the road. A 7:00 PM decision by SpaceX on which of the tree times should take place shortly. Pad launch photos are at LC-39A during remote camera set up.
